ENCLOSURES
Dear Mr. Sloss,
I attach a copy of a letter which has been sent to Sir Arthur Dawe by Major Lugard about the gold trowel with which the foundation stone of the University was laid. Sir Arthur Dave is away until next week and nis Secretary has sent an interim reply.
Would you very kindly let me have your recommendation as to what Sir Arthur Dawe might say on this matter when he writes himself on his return.
If the opening of the University is deferred until early next year, at night provide a suitable occasion for the formal presentation of the trowel.
Yours sincerely,
To
